Welcome
We are a non-profit organization promoting peace, unity and harmony in South Jersey. The Islamic Community of South Jersey was established to bring light to the faith that is practiced by Muslims in the area and we believe that we can make a contributive participation in building a better world for this generation and the next.
We uphold equality and condemn discrimination. We raise our arms together to help the needy. We advocate for a welcoming environment in which our children can grow up and become well-rounded, responsible individuals.
Let us work together to make a beautiful home worth preserving for as many years as possible. We ask you to lend a hand in our projects, take part in our outreach programs or financially contribute to non-profit community services.
ABOUT US
The Islamic Community of South Jersey is united by the grace of Allah, who is the Most Gracious, and the most merciful. We are first and foremost an Islamic religious organization, and a charity organization based in Southern New Jersey. Our programs and activities are religious in nature, and it includes charity outreach missions to different parts of the community in order to help the needy and underprivileged.
For us to accomplish these missions and be able to continue helping more people in the community, we encourage fellow muslims to be part of our Islamic community, and Non-muslims to please, donate generously. We need the support of all those who are willing and able, either in cash or in kind to help the community. This will enable us, to help those who are less fortunate in our society through our charitable activities.
Mission Statement

Vision Statement
The Society shall be a pacesetting non-sectarian Islamic organization.
OUR HISTORY
The Islamic Community of South Jersey (ICOSJ) is a religious organization which was founded in 2008 by a few Muslim families in the South Jersey areas who came together to worship and further the propagation of Islam. The group had the desire to accomplish this locally without the need to travel to Philadelphia, North Jersey or New York. The overarching goal was to worship, increase knowledge and teach the religion of Islam to their children.
Since its inception in 2008, the group held weekly prayer meetings and spiritual activities at members’ homes. As the organization grew, it was apparent that a larger and more formal place for gatherings was inevitable.
Through the active efforts of our members and the blessing of Allah, we sited and won a bid for a building which was formally used by Winslow Township as a municipal building. With the mercy of Allah and contributions from members and generous supporters we purchased the building for our Masjid in November 2015. Alhamdulillah!!!!
Our first assignment was to renovate and complete the 1st Phase of the building to make it suitable for worship. Our dedicated members once again contributed immensely financially and otherwise to re-model the Masjid into what it is today.
The next assignment is the 2nd Phase which will include the remodeling of the ablution (wudu) area and the refurbishment of the basement.
Our mission is to create an approachable environment to unify our neighbors/community with a spiritual and educational center that will embrace both Islamic and Western education for all ages and provide a Zakat house to the needy through the operation of food bank and the provision of other necessities that will be available to everyone. Some of our objectives are as follows:
- To bridge the gap between Islam and the Western world through education and communication
- To create a conducive atmosphere for unity of members irrespective of status, race, color, gender, creed, national origin and disability.
- To build mosques, libraries, hospitals and educational institutions.
- To educate our children, members and the society at large on Islamic ethics and values.
- To assist the less fortunate in the society irrespective of their religious beliefs, color, race, national origin, age or disability.
- To undertake the production and the printing of Islamic materials and literature.
- To undertake projects that will benefit the society at large.
